Happy Tails

We love to hear about successful adoptions, and we share them with others to showcase the wonderful matches that can be made. We call these stories Happy Tails, and we post them every week. We would love to add YOUR photos to our collection of Happy Tails. Email photos of your Lollypop Farm alumni, along with a paragraph or two, to happytails@lollypop.org.

Briar

When Briar arrived at Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, his prospects looked dim. He had a badly fractured right hip and upper-mouth punctures so severe that food was being aspirated into his lungs, causing breathing issues. After 527 days of personal care from staff and volunteers at Lollypop Farm—with veterinary and later, foster care—Briar’s most fervent long-awaited wish came true: he went home with his new family.

Today, Briar is simply enjoying being a cat! He loves being cuddled like a baby and he’s getting in touch with his mischievous side—running up and grabbing shoes and legs to get attention. He’s proof positive that, together, we can do whatever it takes to create happy tales for the animals.

Luna

Luna, a sweet Labrador mix, was surrendered to Lollypop Farm because she was “too vocal.” She was very nervous, uncomfortable, and stressed. Thanks to the work of our behavior team, Luna received the help she needed to improve her socialization and increase mental stimulation.

Her new owner recently described her as “the smartest, most well-behaved little pooch I know … a big cuddle bunny.” Luna loves daily walks along the canal and riding in the car to Pet$aver Healthy Pet Superstore, where they shower her with attention and treats!

Membership gifts will help us provide shelter, behavioral training, spay/neuter surgery, and any necessary medical care to prepare pets for adoption. Become a member of Lollypop Farm today so other dogs like Luna can have their own happy tail.

Molly

Molly, a Haflinger mare, came to Lollypop Farm because she was too much to handle for her previous owner. Smart and strong-willed, Molly was already a veteran of two therapeutic riding programs because she was a little too much to handle. Our excellent equine trainers provided her with the structure and positive feedback she so sorely needed and today, she is doing well in her new adopted home.

Membership gifts will help us provide shelter, behavioral training, and any necessary medical care to prepare animal for adoption. Become a member of Lollypop Farm today so other horses like Molly can have their own happy tail.
