The History of Lollypop Farm

Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, celebrated its 125th anniversary in 1998 & 1999. As part of that celebration, we compiled a history of our local Humane Society. In our first chapter, Humane Education Coordinator Craig Walker takes us back to the first days of the Humane Society in our area.

The second chapter charts the Humane Society's history "From Dog Catcher to Lollypop Farm" (1910 - 1960s).

Chapter three of our history lesson recalls how we came to our present location in Perinton.  In our fourth chapter you will learn about our history of teaching and learning.

Our final chapter finds our receptionist, Dawn Freelove, a 37-year employee at Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, reflecting on her experiences.
