About The Pet-Friendly Apartment List

Many pets are surrendered to animal shelters each year because their owners have difficulty finding rental properties that allow pets. The Rochester Pet-Friendly Apartment List identifies many apartments and townhouses in the Rochester area, both city and suburban, that open their doors to pets.

The List has been compiled to help responsible pet owners find housing that permits pets. Responsible pet owners take full responsibility for their pets' welfare, including their health, exercise, training and companionship needs. Responsible pet-owning tenants must also take responsibility for their pets' successful integration into a community living situation by respecting the rights of other tenants and the pet policy set by the rental managers.

The List, available electronically on this website, is published by Lollypop Farm's Pets Are Welcome (P.A.W.) Program, and is maintained by volunteers of Lollypop Farm.

In addition, the Pets Are Welcome Program publishes a brochure containing tips and suggestions for property managers and tenants to create a mutually successful rental arrangement, including a Sample Pet Policy and Sample Pet Rider to the Lease. Contact Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, for a copy of the P.A.W. Brochure.

Although care was taken to provide accurate information, listings may contain errors or incomplete information. Renters should contact rental offices for more up-to-date and complete information. Rental managers may request additions, deletions or changes to the List by writing to the P.A.W. Program, Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
