Class Details

Class Fee: $90 Includes class handouts and certificate of completion. Dogs adopted from Lollypop Farm receive a $30 discount on their first class. Proceeds from registration fees support the animals and programs at Lollypop Farm. Thank you!

Class Size: No more than eight (8) dogs per session.

Length of Class: One 45-60 minute class for six weeks.

Schedule is subject to change; classes not meeting minimum enrollment may be cancelled. Class Policies: We reserve the right to excuse from class or decline entry to any person or dog who presents behavior that may be dangerous or disruptive to class or for any other reason. Harsh corrections or intimidating training methods will not be tolerated. Dogs that are aggressive, fearful, or unable to benefit in a class setting may be referred to private training. Participation in class is at the discretion of the class instructor and refunds will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

For dogs over 10 months of age who would like to try their paws out in the sport of Agility!  This class is for those who are just looking for a fun activity for their dog or are looking to go on to participate in agility competitions in the future. We will focus on safety and having fun with your dog. 

During this class we will introduce you and your dog to most of the agility equipment, including contact obstacles, tunnels, and jumps. We will also discuss some basic handling skills needed for running agility.  In addition to those skills we will work on targeting, impulse control, and continuing to build the relationship between the dog and handler.

Doggie Pre-Requisites:

• At least 10 months old on the first day of class.
• We strongly recommend that dogs complete our Fun Foundations class before signing up for Beginner Agility I. Dogs must have completed a Adolescent Puppy or Basic Manners class or have permission from the instructor.Contact us at (585) 223-1330 x251 or by email at cwalker@lollypop.org
• Must be safe around other dogs on and off leash.
• You must have had your dog for at least 10 days prior to the first class.
• Current on Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, and Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccinations. Bring vaccination records to the first class.
• Free from all parasites (worms, fleas, ticks, etc).
• Properly fitted buckle collar (no chokes, prongs or electric shock) or harness.
• 4-6’ cotton, nylon, or leather leash (no retractable leashes).
• Clicker, available at the Lollypop Gift Shop.
• Variety of soft pea-sized treats that your dog absolutely loves.
• 2-3 of your dog’s favorite toys. If you are going to use a ball it should have a rope attached to it.
