Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, is a community-funded nonprofit animal shelter and learning center located in Fairport, NY. It employs over 90 full- and part-time employees with an annual operating budget of $4.5M. Its 140 acre facility shelters a variety of domestic pets and livestock.
Lollypop Farm has a full-time position available in our kennel area. The Kennel Attendant is responsible for caring for our shelter animals as well as keeping work areas clean and well stocked. (Must be available to work weekends.)
Veterinary Assistant (Full-time)
Two full-time openings as a Veterinary Assistant are available at Lollypop Farm. The primary function of the Veterinary Assistant is to assist the veterinarians and technicians by facilitating the effective and efficient operation of the clinic for animal treatment and surgery by performing various clinic duties. Humane Education Camp Counselor (Full-time/Seasonal)
Lollypop Farm has seasonal openings for full-time work as Humane Education Camp Counselors. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children, ages 4-12, and animals! The Humane Education Camp Counselors run the day-to-day camp operation which includes developing and implementing humane education lessons, preparing materials for each week's campers, overseeing animal interaction with the campers, leading campers in chore duties, hikes around Lollypop Farm property and animal-related crafting sessions.
Director of Human Resources (Part-time)
The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical Human Resources leadership to Lollypop Farm. Develops and implements policies, programs and services for management and employees of the organization. Fosters a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission of the organization. Areas of focus include: recruitment and selection, employment policies, practices and procedures, retention, legal compliance, compensation, employee benefits, training and employee development, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. Working with the Volunteer Manager, provides direction and oversight to all aspects of the Humane Society's volunteer program.
One full-time position as an Adoption Counselor is available at Lollypop Farm. The Adoption Counselor ensures that animals are cared for and placed in suitable homes, as well as cares for customer needs. Must be able to work weekends.
Full Time Licensed Veterinary Technician
One full-time position (40 hrs including one weekend day) is available for a NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician at Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester. Become part of the team that provides the medical and surgical care to the 12,000+ animals that come into the shelter annually. Duties include: anesthesia, induction, post op monitoring, communicating with clients. Must be licensed by NYS, able to work independently and have proficient technical abilities. Use your skills to their fullest potential and help make a difference in the lives of these needy animals.
