Pet Loss Support Groups

Family and friends may not relate to how drastically the loss of a pet affects us, and they sometimes find it difficult to support the grief we feel. Lollypop Farm is able to provide with you with ways to express your feelings in a safe, supportive, and understanding environment.

Sessions meet once a week for 3 weeks. Upcoming Dates:

Group Description
This free three-week support group session will guide participants through the stages of loss and coping strategies. Through sharing memories and creating tributes to our loved family members, you may begin the process of healing.

Pet Loss Support Hotline: 607-253-3932, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Tuesday-Thursday, staffed by volunteer veterinary students at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University.

Your group sessions will be facilitated by Jim Bergeron, a social worker with experience and training in death, dying, and bereavement counseling. These sessions are offered through a partnership between Lollypop Farm and Pets at Peace, by Harris Funeral Home. Sessions will be held at the Harris Family Center, "A Sharing Place," 560 Kings Highway South at Titus Ave, behind Harris Funeral Home in Irondequoit. Map and directions.

Group Description
"Getting Through the Grief: Living With Pet Loss" is a free seminar offered by Lollypop Farm to those coping with the loss of a beloved pet. Facilitated by grief counselors, the group session each month is open to all.

Participants will appreciate a nonjudgmental setting while learning about the different stages of grief and how to work through feelings of grief, guilt, and loss. Group meets at:
