Foster Care

Have you ever wanted to care for a pet, but weren’t able to do something so permanent? Or have you wanted to volunteer, but weren’t able to make a commitment to work a weekly shift on-site at Lollypop Farm? Well, we may have just the opportunity for you!

Because animals at Lollypop Farm aren’t eligible to be adopted until they reach two months of age, this causes a need for “foster care volunteers.” Mostly, we need volunteers to foster kittens between one month and two months of age. Sometimes, their mama-cats accompany them. The kittens are always old enough to eat solid food, so you wouldn't need to bottle-feed them. In rare instances, we also need people to foster young puppies, but this doesn't happen often.

Foster care is also needed for animals that are recuperating from an illness or an injury. Animal-loving volunteers take responsibility for these pets, providing a safe environment and caring for them at home, while reaping the benefits of having a temporary pet! In fact, most foster care volunteers find that the only drawback is having to return the animals after growing to love them!
