Volunteer Orientation & Training

All new volunteers have to attend basic training:

Barktober Fest volunteers
  • Part I — Basic orientation, history, tour of the building
  • Part II — Zoonotic diseases & infection control
  • Part III — Animal behavior and safe animal handling

Iif your interests and availability are a match for our current needs, you will be invited to the next basic training.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please read the Frequently Asked Questions about volunteering, and then fill out this form. Please note that because of the tremendous support of the community, we are in the fortunate position of having more applicants than there are available slots for volunteers. So please don't be hurt if we can't use your help right away. After you fill out the web-based form, we will contact you with additional information.

If you have any questions, or if you have trouble with the form, please contact Maggie Huff, Volunteer Coordinator, at (585) 223-1330 x231, or by e-mail at mhuff@lollypop.org.

Volunteers do many different kinds of things, including animal care (walking dogs, cleaning cat cages, etc.), assisting in our adoption center in PetSmart in Henrietta, working in the gift shop, doing data entry, and much more.

We are grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who help the Humane Society make our community a better place for animals.
