Emergency Veterinary Assistance and Reward FundA Humane Society supporter came to us with a proposal. In recognition of the years of love and devotion he enjoyed with his rescued dogs, the donor wanted to establish a fund that would help other pets in dire situations. All of his dogs had been rescued from abusive situations. Nonetheless, each one showed him nothing but true love and happiness. Tuffy passed away after 17 wonderful years. In appreciation of all they gave to him, our donor sought a way to help other unwanted and abused animals. The Emergency Veterinary Assistance Fund was created to provide veterinary care for animals at the Humane Society that are victims of neglect or abuse. It has been expanded to incorporate reward money that may be used in criminal investigations. Harry's StoryHarry was a stray Shih Tzu/poodle mix who came to Lollypop Farm. His hair was so severely matted that we could not tell what color he was or that he had a terrible leg wound with exposed bones and tendons. Lollypop Farm veterinarian Dr. Cristina Cadavieco committed to helping Harry heal, though treatment would involve daily bandage changes for weeks. Despite some bumps in the road, the tissue on his leg healed to cover the wound and he began using the leg more each day. Harry continued his rehabilitation in foster care. Despite his neglected past, Harry wants nothing more than to sit in your lap and let you pet him! Only through the special support of the Emergency Veterinary Assistance Fund is Lollypop Farm was able to save the live victims of neglect and abuse, like Harry. Donate to this fund now » |
