Basic Pet Care — A Program for 3 – 5 Year Olds

We have designed a short program for the preschoolers and kindergarteners that come to visit us at Lollypop Farm! Before they take a look at all of our animals they will learn a little something about Basic Pet Care. The volunteers will help them work on cooperating and listening while they talk about animals feelings and needs and how they are similar and different to us. Each child will leave with a Happy Dog Coloring Book!

For humane education programs there is a fee of $4 per child. Groups often enjoy collecting items from our Wish List as well. Reservations are required and must be made by filling out the online reservation form. Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, is located at 99 Victor Road in Fairport.

Lollypop Farm humane education programs can accomodate a maximum of 30 people per visit. This includes all children and adults. Groups larger than that are disruptive and stressful for the animals at Lollypop Farm.

At Lollypop Farm we take good care of all the animals, making sure to feed and water them, play with them, and take care of them when they're sick. We hope that you'll have fun coloring with this book, but we also want to help you remember ways that you can take care of your pets at home. Pets can be a big responsibility, but we're sure you agree with us that they can be a lot of fun, too. So enjoy the coloring book and read through all the ways that you can learn to love your pets even better!

You may click here to download and print out the coloring book pages. The pages may be printed for personal use or for use in the classroom only. Sale of these pages is forbidden. Please contact Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, to share your plans. We are excited to learn the impact the coloring books are having on its readers.

Don't forget to print out the Parents Guide to help you get the most out of the book. You can also read a message from Lollypop Farm CEO Alice Calabrese-Smith.

K-4th graders are most at risk for dog bites! We know that when this happens both the dog and the child are probably confused and scared. When K-4th graders come to visit Lollypop Farm they will get to participate in a Dog Bite Prevention program before seeing the animals. They will watch a video, play a game, and will be able to practice the safe way to pet a dog.

For a guided tour program there is a fee of $4 per child. Groups often enjoy collecting items from our Wish List as well. Reservations are required and must be made by filling out the online reservation form. The Humane Society at Lollypop Farm is located at 99 Victor Road in Fairport.

Lollypop Farm humane education programs can accomodate a maximum of 30 people per visit. This includes both children and adults. Groups larger than that are disruptive and stressful for the animals at Lollypop Farm.
