Lollypop Farm Waiving Adoption Fees

Fairport, N.Y. – With hundreds of pets in their care, Lollypop Farm is requesting help from the community to empty the shelter. Starting today, March 13, 2020, adoption fees are waived for pets, farm animals, and equine until further notice. (Some exceptions may apply.) For pets who need additional veterinary support, Lollypop Farm will be offering foster-to-adopt options.

“With the growing number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in New York State, we want to ensure we are taking the necessary precautions to maintain excellent care for animals in the shelter,” says Caitlin Daly, Vice-President & COO for Lollypop Farm. “To prepare for the possibility our organization has a reduction in staff and volunteers, we are trying to limit the number of pets in our care. A pet is always a wonderful addition to the home, and we want to encourage people to open their hearts to helping a pet in need.”

Pet adoptions will still include physical examination by our veterinary staff, spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, deworming medication, flea treatment, pet health insurance for 30 days, a follow-up health exam with a participating veterinarian, microchip, and ID tag.

While Lollypop Farm remains open to the public, if you are feeling sick, please remain at home. The organization is taking precautions to ensure the health and safety of staff, volunteers, and guests:

- Lollypop Farm is limiting animal intake in order to prioritize emergency situations and help the neediest pets first.
- At the request of Monroe County, Lollypop Farm is cancelling events of 50 or more participants. All other programs will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- All areas of Lollypop Farm are regularly sanitized for the prevention of disease. The organization will continue to maintain this standard and increase cleaning protocols for public spaces as needed.
- Lollypop Farm has suspended business travel for employees to help minimize risk to our area.
