(Reptiles\, large birds\, and farmyard animals are not included in this free adoption event). \nNO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY TO ADOPT (not even on Sunday and Saturday!) \nAll potential adopters will still meet with our experienced adoption counselors who will help you find a new pet that fits your lifestyle and home life. *The adoption process is exactly the same as if adopters were paying the full adoption fee.* \nThank you for considering adding a new pet to your home so we can make room in our shelter for more animals in need. \nCheck out all pets available for adoption

DESCRIPTION:Shelter Helpers is a fun in-person program specially designed for students looking for opportunities to help their community. Perfect for young animal lovers (8-16 years old) Shelter Helpers will explore different ways that youth can help homeless pets. \nParticipants may create a variety of enrichment toys\, devise adoption promotion materials\, and participate in keeping the shelter grounds tidy – not to mention get some hands-on animal socialization time! \n*Program hours are eligible to be signed off as service hours \nQualifications:\n-8-16 years old\n-Participants must arrive on time and stay for the entire session.\n-Show respect to all animals (including humans too!) \nDetails:\n-Morning sessions (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) are reserved for participants ages 8-11 years old\n-Afternoon sessions (1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) are reserved for participants ages 12-16 years old)\n-5-10 students will be in attendance at each session.\n-Registration is required.\n-Guardians can drop off and pick up program participants at the Training and Education Center entrance.\n-Participants must wear clothes that can get messy and closed-toe shoes with rubber soles.
