SUMMARY:Bird Study Merit Badge Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Scouts will learn the uses of bird study and the terms used when describing birds. Scouts will learn how to use and care for binoculars for bird watching. Scouts will create a field notebook and be able to identify at least 20 species of wild birds. Scouts will construct a bird feeder to attract wild birds. Scouts will learn about the different adaptations of birds\, the functions of bird songs and calls\, and the conservation statuses of birds. After completing their field notebooks\, Scouts will be awarded the bird study merit badge. No prerequisites are needed for this merit badge.
