DESCRIPTION:Scouts will learn the history of the domestication of dogs and the characteristics of major breed groups. Scouts will learn about responsible dog ownership\, including house-training\, obedience training\, socialization\, and care. Scouts will tour the Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic and learn about the medical needs of dogs and basic first aid. To meet the requirements of this merit badge\, scouts must present evidence that they have cared for a dog for at least 2 months.
