Designate Your United Way Pledge to Lollypop Farm
When you designate your United Way contribution to Lollypop Farm, you support the issues our community cares about most.
Here’s how with our “Pets Helping People” programs:
- Help Prevent Violence — Did you know that humane education fosters the values of kindness, caring, compassion, and respect? Our various docent-led tours, summer Farm Camp, and Girl Scout programs all strive to prevent cruelty and violence — to all beings.
- Foster Success in School — Our Book Buddies program is helping schoolchildren improve their reading skills with the help of our shelter cats.
- Help People with Disabilities — Pet Assisted Therapy has a long and successful history at Lollypop Farm serving both senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. Recently, the program has been expanded to reach even more agencies serving both children and adults.
- Keep Seniors Independent — Our Seniors-for-Seniors adoption program provides fee-free adoptions to individuals 60 years of age or older when adopting a pet 6 years of age or older. Studies have shown that elderly people who own pets are more active than those who do not and that pet ownership has positive effects on physical well-being. We also provide a Pet Food Bank for companion animals on an emergency basis.
