DESCRIPTION:Shelter Helpers is a fun in-person program specially designed for students looking for opportunities to help their community. Perfect for young animal lovers (8-16 years-old) Shelter Helpers will explore different ways that youth can help homeless pets. \nParticipants may create a variety of enrichment toys\, devise adoption promotion materials\, and participate in keeping the shelter grounds tidy – not to mention get some hands-on animal socialization time! \n*Program hours are eligible to be signed off as service hours \nQualifications:\n-8-16 years old\n-Participants must arrive on time and stay for the entire session.\n-Show respect to all animals (including humans too!) \nDetails:\n-Morning sessions (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) are reserved for participants ages 8-11 years old\n-Afternoon sessions (1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.) are reserved for participants ages 12-16 years old)\n-5-10 students will be in attendance at each session.\n-Registration is required.\n-Guardians can drop-off and pick-up program participants at the Training and Education Center entrance.\n-Participants must wear clothes that can get messy and closed-toe shoes with rubber soles.

SUMMARY:Veterinary Medicine Merit Badge Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Scouts will learn the roles\, responsibilities\, and training required of veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians. Scouts will tour the Klingenstein Veterinary clinic and observe the clinic staff as they provide medical care to the animals at Lollypop Farm. Scouts will be awarded the veterinary medicine merit badge after completion of a report of their visit. No prerequisites are needed for this merit badge. \nTime: 2.5 hours\nPrerequisites: None\nFollow-up: Report of visit\nPricing: $25 per scout (two group leaders included for free)
