A silt fence has been installed to protect surrounding areas from construction runoff, and some parking areas are restricted. School buses will be rerouted to ensure safe student drop-offs. The Pavilion has been demolished, and trees have been removed to make way for new driveways and buildings. It may look a little sparse right now, but the promise of renewal is on the horizon. We will plant new trees to restore shade and beauty to this cherished space.

A few highlights of completed work over the past few weeks:

• Continued work on utilities (storm sewer, water, gas, internet, etc.)
• Continued grading on East Campus

• Demolished the oldest portion of the building – former maintenance and cremator area
• Built temporary walls and doors inside the existing building to separate construction from operations

• Added ground water mitigation at Main Campus and East Campus – French drains and other improvements to help dry our site and pastures

• Brought grading to pad-ready elevations at Main Campus in preparation for concrete to start in July

Construction teams are hard at work clearing land that will soon be the site of green pastures for our new East Campus. A Wood hog was used to clear trees for our new East Campus and for pig pastures to the west of Egypt Park. The transformation for both areas was impressive, turning wooded lots into cleared fields that will be prepared for farmyard animals.

A Moo-ving Day celebration was held on October 9th. At long last, construction has begun and we wanted to ensure the safety of our unofficial mascot Elmer. Elmer was hoisted into the air by crane (proof cows can fly!) and placed on a flatbed trailer, where he was ceremoniously transported to the front lawn.

Elmer now stands on the front lawn acting as an ambassador for the Kindness for All Kind Campaign.
