Want a firsthand look at how we save lives every day? Step inside the heart of our mission with a guided tour through our Adoption Areas and Farm Walk and meet an animal ambassador. Our behind-the-scenes guided tour gives you direct access to all the action. It’s an eye-opening adventure for animal lovers of all ages!

Logistics:

  • Register at least 2 weeks prior
  • 1-1.5 hours
  • Available to book Tuesday-Sunday, 10:30 am-5 pm
  • 45 participants max, adults included
  • $10 per participant
    • 20% Title 1 school discount: $8 per participant

Humane Education Workshop Options:

Add one of these optional 45-minute workshops onto your field trip experience for an additional $5.00/student.

  • Career Exploration (Grades 3 – Adult): Discover where your passion for animals can take you in this interactive workshop at Lollypop Farm! Participants will explore the diverse careers that keep an animal welfare organization running—from veterinary medicine and animal behavior to humane law enforcement, farm care, and shelter operations. You’ll hear directly from Lollypop Farm staff across multiple departments, learn about the skills and education needed for various roles, and get an inside look at how our teams work together to help animals in the Rochester area.

  • Paws & Read: Spark a love for learning through the power of the human-animal bond with Lollypop Farm’s Paws & Read. Led by experienced Humane Educators and aligned with New York State Learning Standards, this interactive program promotes literacy, empathy, and emotional growth by tapping into children’s natural connection with animals. Available as a single classroom visit or an unforgettable field trip to Lollypop Farm, Paws & Read offers a supportive, non-judgmental space where young learners can build confidence and compassion together.

  • Service Learning Project: Service projects give students a powerful, hands-on way to support animals in need. Operating a shelter requires immense time, resources, hard work, and dedication—and Lollypop Farm simply couldn’t thrive without the support of our community. Through this workshop, students see firsthand how their efforts directly help our shelter run, leaving with a deeper understanding of animal welfare, social responsibility, and the real impact simple acts of service can make.

What to Expect on your Visit:

  • Accessibility: The main building of our Fairport campus is ADA-accessible. Sections of our outdoor farm walk have uneven, graded, or loose terrain and may not be accessible to all guests. If you have any specific accessibility requirements or need assistance, please contact us beforehand so we can plan accommodations.
  • Chaperones: For groups with attendees under 18, we request a 1:10 ratio
    • Chaperones count toward the visitor limits.
    • Chaperones must be at least 18 years old.
    • Children younger than 5 must have a 1:1 chaperone and be holding hands or carried by an adult while touring the facility.
  • Clothing: Ensure students and chaperones wear clothing and close-toed shoes suitable for walking outdoors and at an animal shelter.
    • Weather: Parts of the tour are outdoors, please encourage students to dress in layers.
  • Allergy Information: Lollypop Farm houses hundreds of dogs and cats daily, and peanut butter/treats containing nuts are often used for training and enrichment. Lollypop Farm cannot guarantee that guests will not come into contact with pet allergens or nuts. Field trips are not recommended for children with allergies to pets, pet dander, or nuts.

This project will allow us to significantly improve our facilities and the level of care we provide to animals in need. While we work to build a better future for our animal friends, please note:

  • Safety First: Stay within designated visitor paths and follow all posted detour signs.
  • Active Site: You may encounter construction noise or machinery during your visit. We appreciate your patience as we transform our campus!
