This sweet older lady is Shelby. Now, this girl might not be the best-built one in the herd, but what she lacks in attractive features she certainly makes up for in temperament. She is the kind of mare that you gelding-lovers can definitely get along with. She checks all the boxes: loads, leads, ties, great for vet/farrier, gets along great with other mares, can be stalled calmly or live out, suitable for an intermediate handler. Her only vice is that she is a cribber, but it is easily controlled with her collar.

She was ridden earlier this spring by her previous owner, and was said to have been shown. We have begun our riding evaluation, and she has done great. So far, we have saddled her and had a small ride around our farm walk. Due to her age and arthritic joints, she would be suitable for a very easy riding job like hacking around the pasture or giving the grandkids a pony ride.
