LOLLYPOP FARM ANNOUNCES DATES AND SITES FOR COMMUNITY VACCINATION EVENTS

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, will continue its work to remove barriers to veterinary care this spring, beginning in May with the first of four community pet care events. These events are designed to bring impactful services and meaningful resources directly to underserved areas within the Greater Rochester area, helping more pets receive the care they need while connecting community members with compassionate support.

“We know that access to basic veterinary care is still out of reach for too many people, and that gap puts beloved pets at risk,” said Alice Calabrese, President and CEO of Lollypop Farm. “Our community vaccination program is about removing those barriers, meeting people where they are, and ensuring every animal has the chance to live a healthy, happy life. Vaccines are one of the simplest, most effective ways to protect pets from serious disease, and by making this care more accessible, we’re not only safeguarding individual animals; we’re strengthening the health and resilience of our entire community and helping keep pets at home with the people who love them.”

In addition to core vaccinations, these first-come, first-served events offer pet food and supplies, along with access to Lollypop Farm’s knowledgeable staff who can provide guidance on behavior, training, and other resources to help strengthen the bond between pets and their people.

The first event, serving dogs only, will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6 at the David F. Gannt R-Center, in partnership with New Hope for Marketview Heights. Additional events are scheduled as follows:

All events will run through 2 p.m., or while supplies last.

Lollypop Farm continues to broaden its impact across the region by strengthening partnerships, engaging with community members, and expanding its lifesaving approach. In 2025, the organization administered nearly 2,000 vaccines, representing a 65 percent increase over the previous year, while distributing nearly 6,000 pounds of pet food across five community pet care events. These efforts also connected thousands of pet owners with vital services, including veterinary care, behavioral support, educational programming, and the organization’s pet pantry.
