LOLLYPOP FARM TO OFFER DISCOUNTED ADOPTION FEES DURING OCTOBER AS PART OF ADOPT-A-DOG MONTH

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – October is National Adopt-A-Dog Month and Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, is partnering with Rochester Colonial to make it easier than ever to welcome a loving four-legged friend into your family. Throughout the month, adoption fees for dogs between seven months and six years old will be 50 percent off and adoption fees for dogs over six years old will be completely waived. Dogs under seven months old are not included in this promotion.

“Every adoption is more than just finding a loving home,” said Alice Calabrese, President and CEO at Lollypop Farm. It’s creating a bond that enriches lives and strengthens our entire community. With so many loving pets awaiting a new home, now is the perfect opportunity to find companionship, change a life, and make a meaningful difference. We’re hopeful that more people will discover the incredible joy that comes from opening their hearts and homes to an animal in need.”

Upon arrival at Lollypop Farm, each animal is carefully evaluated by licensed staff at the Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic. All dogs are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped to ensure they are adoption ready. Adoption staff are available to assist prospective adopters, provide guidance, facilitate meet-and-greet opportunities, and to answer any questions. Additionally, Lollypop Farm has partnered with Petcademy to provide adopters with free training support to ensure a smooth transition. Through this innovative program, adopters gain access to a team of certified trainers available seven days a week via text or email. The service also includes online training videos, step-by-step guides, and resources tailored to each pet’s unique needs.

To explore available animals, review important resources, or learn more about hours and frequently asked questions regarding the adoption process, visit Lollypop Farm’s website. To provide more individualized attention and to serve the community as efficiently as possible, adoption appointments are required Friday through Monday. Appointment availability opens each Wednesday and can be scheduled by visiting lollypop.org.

For those unable to make a long-term commitment like adoption, Lollypop Farm also offers a comprehensive foster program. This initiative allows community members to temporarily provide a safe, nurturing environment for animals in need. All necessary supplies, medical care, and support are provided by Lollypop Farm. If you’re interested in becoming a temporary foster care provider, complete the registration form.
