John F. Wegman Fund Invests in Lollypop Farm Humane Education Program
$5,000 grant will support anti-bullying curriculum
Fairport, NY (January 11, 2022) – Lollypop Farm announced today a $5,000 grant from the John F. Wegman Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation will support the organization’s new Humane Education curriculum.
Lollypop Farm’s Humane Education program seeks to teach empathy for all living beings. In this spirit, the organization has developed a new anti-bullying curriculum. The organization will be working with middle schools in the area, including Greece, to implement the program focused on treating all living beings with care.
“The No More Bullying Program teaches children how every being is valuable and deserves to be treated with compassion,” says Humane Education Manager Kim Ferris-Church. “All too often we see animals and humans negatively impacted by labels and stereotypes. This curriculum works to encourage students to look past labels and treat everyone with respect and care.”
Lollypop Farm’s Humane Education Program influences over 2,000 adults and students every year. The organization looks to encourage and strengthen the human-animal bond in our community through its Humane Education offerings. Programs include Pet First Aid & CPR, community service programs, scouting programs, pet care classes, and more.
