Cat Behavior 101 (FREE) –

This introductory course covers the basics of cat body language and how to have safe and successful interactions with cats of all temperaments. Cats are often misunderstood, and at times their behaviors can be difficult to understand, even for experienced cat owners. This course will explore the many ways in which our feline companions communicate and how we, as humans, can better understand them. This course will also discuss cat socialization and behavior modification.

Dog Behavior 101 (FREE)
Offered: May 24, June 28
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This introductory course focuses on dog body language using the TEMP acronym (Tails, Ears/Eyes, Mouth, and Posture). Most of us know that when a dog wags their tail, it means they’re happy! But did you know a dog’s tail wag can also be used to communicate insecurity or nervousness? And what about other behaviors like lip licking or avoiding eye contact? Whether you’re a first-time dog owner or have lived with dogs for years, Dogs 101 will help you to better understand the numerous and complex ways our canine friends communicate their wants, needs, and emotions.

As part of its ongoing mission to reduce animal cruelty and neglect, Lollypop Farm is expanding its outreach with the construction of the Karpus Family Foundation Learning Center – a state-of-the-art facility that will feature community spaces, exhibits, and classrooms where people of all ages can learn about animal welfare, empathy, and responsible pet ownership. Humane Education promotes kindness, develops empathy, and cultivates compassion toward animals, people, and the environment. Lollypop Farm empowers individuals to gain knowledge and tools to make informed, socially-responsible choices to better the lives of animals in our community.
