Lollypop Farm Walk for the Animals at Barktober Fest raises $187,440 to help pets in need
Fairport, N.Y. – On Saturday, September 24th, Lollypop Farm held the Walk for the Animals at Barktober Fest presented by Pet Supplies Plus raising $187,440. Participants enjoyed a live book reading from social media sensation Jonathan Graziano of his best-selling children’s book “Noodle and the No Bones Day,” as well as a book signing and private meet and greet with his dog Noodle the pug for top fundraisers.
“We are thankful for the support from the community,” says Alice Calabrese, President, and CEO of Lollypop Farm. “These funds raised are vital in providing the necessary veterinary services, behavioral intervention, and compassionate care for pets in need at Lollypop Farm. We especially want to thank our friends at Pet Supplies Plus, 13 WHAM, Warm 101.3, Fickle 93.3, 94.1 The Zone, Smola Consulting, Lori’s Natural Foods, Delta Sonic, Donuts Delite, Hoselton Auto Mall, Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, Crazy Dog, Manning & Napier, Westside Animal Hospital, Paychex, Brown & Brown of New York Inc., and Stanley Steemer of Rochester Inc. for their support.”
The Walk for the Animals featured two walking paths, a 1.5-mile route that went onto Route 31, and a 0.5-mile walk around the Lollypop Farm campus. Students at the Mary Therese Friel Modeling Agency cheered on participants before they crossed the finish line. Local fundraising band The Dawgs performed at the main stage throughout the day, and numerous vendors were available for unique gifts and food options.
