National Nonprofit Petco Love Invests in Lollypop Farm to Save and Improve the Lives of Pets in the Greater Rochester Community

Fairport, N.Y. (April 09, 2024) – Lollypop Farm is set to receive a $20,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for animals in the Greater Rochester area.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $375 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like ours — across North America, with 6.75 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in Lollypop Farm is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses patented image-recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“We are thankful to Petco Love for this lifesaving investment and for the opportunity to partner with them in bettering the lives of pets in our community. This grant will aid us in providing low-cost spay neuter procedures for pets in our community,” said Alice Calabrese, President and CEO of Lollypop Farm. “Last year, Lollypop Farm provided over 4,000 pets in the community with this service, and this investment is critical to ensure that work continues.”

Lollypop Farm is committed to helping pets no matter their need, from medical to behavioral. This lifesaving investment will go towards helping the organization continue to help pets in our community overcome challenges. Lollypop Farm’s Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic is able to help with challenging medical cases like little Piper’s thanks to partners like Petco Love. Piper was surrendered to Lollypop Farm with a life-threatening parvovirus diagnosis. Parvovirus is highly contagious, but Piper got stronger each day with medications and fluids. She received extra attention in foster care until she was strong enough to be adopted.

Lollypop Farm provides second chances for dogs, cats, small animals, birds, reptiles, farm animals, and equines. To learn more about Lollypop Farm adoptions, visit lollypop.org. Learn more about Petco Love here: petcolove.org.
