PETCO LOVE EXPANDS INVESTMENT IN LOLLYPOP FARM TO IMPROVE ANIMAL WELFARE IN THE GREATER ROCHESTER REGION

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, a recognized leader in animal welfare, is pleased to announce that its partnership with Petco Love is expanding. The national nonprofit organization announced a lifesaving investment of $7,500 that directly benefits Lollypop Farm’s Spay/Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP), which provides affordable, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries for pets in the community.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $425 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like Lollypop Farm — across North America, with more than seven million pets adopted and counting.

This latest investment builds on Petco Love’s history of powering Lollypop Farm’s work, including an investment that helped launch SNIP in 2013 and another in 2024 that significantly expanded the program’s reach.

A vital community program, the Spay/Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP) provides qualified pet parents access to spay/neuter services for their dog or cat at a significantly reduced cost. Since its founding, SNIP has had a profound impact on the health and well-being of community pets with more than 4,800 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries having been performed.

Alice Calabrese, President and CEO of Lollypop Farm, said, “We’re extremely grateful to Petco Love for its continued investment in life-saving resources for pets in our community. This support is vital to ensuring that families have access to high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services and is integral in safeguarding the well-being of pets while easing the financial challenges of pet ownership. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference for pets and the people who love them throughout our region.”

Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love said, “Our investment in Lollypop Farm is part of more than $12M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized. Local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost and found database that uses photo-matching technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

Lollypop Farm’s main campus is currently under construction, which may temporarily affect some programs and services, including operations at the Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic. Please note that due to a high volume of applications, SNIP appointment details, including intake location, wait times, procedures, and timing are subject to change.
