ASPCA® Awards $125,000 to Lollypop Farm

Grants will fund low-income spay/neuter clinic at Humane Society of Greater Rochester

Fairport, N.Y. — Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, has received a grant totaling $125,000 from the New York State Animal Population Control Program, administered by the ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®).  This award will enable Lollypop Farm to continue to provide affordable spay and neuter surgeries for income-qualified dog and cat owners in the Greater Rochester region through SNIP, the organization’s Spay/Neuter Incentive Program.

“We are thankful for this grant that enables us to provide low-cost spay/neuter services to pet owners who might not otherwise have the means,” said Alice Calabrese, CEO and President of Lollypop Farm. “Our veterinary clinic has already provided spay/neuter services to over 700 pets in the community through the S.N.I.P. program this year, and we’re excite to expand our reach for a lasting impact on the community.”

“One of the most effective ways to reduce the number of puppies and kittens ending up in shelters is to provide low-cost spay/neuter services,” said Jill Van Tuyl, director of community initiatives at the ASPCA. “By providing this grant to Lollypop Farm, the ASPCA hopes that local pet owners will have the opportunity to combat overpopulation while providing invaluable health benefits to their dogs and cats.”
