Rochester Area Community Foundation Gonsenhauser Family Fund Invests $5,000 in the Farm Animal Rescue Program

Fairport, N.Y. (February 2, 2024) – Lollypop Farm announced that a $5,000 grant investment from the Rochester Area Community Foundation Gonsenhauser Family Fund to support farm animal care and adoptions.

The Farm Animal Rescue Program provides shelter, nutritious food, veterinary care, and adoption services for homeless and abused farm animals that are surrendered or seized by animal cruelty investigators.

“Lollypop Farm is one of the only humane societies in New York State able to house unwanted farm animals on-site.,” states Farm Director at Lollypop Farm Joanna Dychton. “This means other rescues and the community are relying on us for help with cruelty cases and other emergency situations. Partners like the Gonsehauser Family ensure we are able to overcome the hurdles associated with taking on large cases and long-stays for our farm friends.”
In 2023, Lollypop Farm helped 99 farmyard animals find new homes through their adoption program.

The cost of care from local farm veterinary services, farrier, housing, and food for larger farm animals can be very high, but with the help of this grant, Lollypop Farm will continue to provide high quality care for animals of all shapes and sizes.
