Adopt From Foster FAQs
What does it mean when a pet has the "Adopt From Foster" banner on their profile?
It means that the pet is lucky enough to spend their time in a foster home until they find a family to call their very own! They can be adopted right from their foster home versus having to be here at the shelter.
Where is this pet actually located?
They are in a loving foster home! All pets who have the "Adopt From Foster" banner will need an appointment in order to meet them. Sometimes, pets are met right in their foster home and other times, they are brought back to the shelter for a meet and greet - each situation may be a little different, but you and that pet's point person will work out those details!
How do I meet them/what is the adoption process?
The first step is to click the "Ask About Meeting Me" button, which will take you directly to this pet's adoption page on Shelterluv. From there, one of our staff members will reach out to you with more information about the pet and how to meet them.
Are you interested in helping a pet stay out of the shelter while they wait for an adopter?
We love to hear that! Become a foster volunteer at lollypop.org/foster. You will receive emails letting you know who is eligible for our "Adopt From Foster" program!
Dakoda
Lollypop Farm
Dakoda has adorable ears that sit in the middle of her head, making her easy to spot in a crowd, and certainly among the dozens of other cute dogs that we have available for adoption here at Lollypop. Dakoda *was* an absolute hit in our dog playgroups, often found zooming around our play yards happily with her dog friends...but, she unfortunately fractured her femur ahead of her re-admission to Lollypop Farm, which is making playtime a bit of a challenge at this point, but she continues to be pro-social and friendly with dogs to the extent that she can be. Dakoda is a big fan of other dogs, but she does not want to share a home with feline friends. Like any puppy, lil' Dak would love to find a home that'll work on some basic manners with her. (That should be easy, though, since she'll truly do anything for a snack!) Especially with being a little "broken" in the back leg department, on top of being an adolescent little lady, enrichment and mental stimulation are vital to Dakoda's ability to thrive in her new home. Dakoda LOVES toys, puzzles, and sniffing...and cannot wait to do this in your home with you! Interested in this goofy-eared girl? Please come meet her! Don't let her leg injury deter you, please. Our clinic team can talk further about next steps and how to best care for this sweet little "void" as we lovingly call her. Please email my friend Nicole to set up a time to meet Dakoda at nratliff@lollypop.org, as she is now in a foster home, finally! And, she told us to say, "bring snacks!"
