Adopt From Foster FAQs
What does it mean when a pet has the "Adopt From Foster" banner on their profile?
It means that the pet is lucky enough to spend their time in a foster home until they find a family to call their very own! They can be adopted right from their foster home versus having to be here at the shelter.
Where is this pet actually located?
They are in a loving foster home! All pets who have the "Adopt From Foster" banner will need an appointment in order to meet them. Sometimes, pets are met right in their foster home and other times, they are brought back to the shelter for a meet and greet - each situation may be a little different, but you and that pet's point person will work out those details!
How do I meet them/what is the adoption process?
The first step is to fill out the form that will pop up once you click the "Ask About Meeting Me button". From there, one of our staff members will reach out to you with more information about the pet and how to meet them.
Are you interested in helping a pet stay out of the shelter while they wait for an adopter?
We love to hear that! Become a foster volunteer at lollypop.org/foster. You will receive emails letting you know who is eligible for our "Adopt From Foster" program!
Freddy
Lollypop Farm
Gentle and sweet, handsome and loving....it's Freddy! Freddy came to Lollypop Farm as a transfer in from a local dog control facility. They were just as big of Freddy fans as we are, and we can't blame them: he is equal parts affectionate, calm, and easygoing. Freddy loves his leash walks, and sniffing around in nature. He knows some basic cues (like "sit" and "down"), proving yet another great quality about him to be true...he's a little smarty pants! Because he was a stray, we aren't yet sure how he feels about other animals. We will update his information as we get to know him better. That is...unless you scoop him up before then! Freddy was not a big fan of shelter life, and was recently lucky enough to land himself in a foster home. Please email his friend Nicole at nratliff@lollypop.org to set up a time to meet with him. Please come meet Freddy at Lollypop Farm!
I am Heartworm Positive. While I am currently receiving treatment through the Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic at Lollypop Farm, I am available for Foster-to-Adopt. This means Lollypop Farm will continue to cover the cost of my treatment while I recover in a loving home. Once I have completed treatment and am medically cleared, my adoption can be finalized. If you’re interested in learning more about what it means to foster a heartworm positive dog, please reach out, we’d be happy to talk you through the process!
