Adopt From Foster FAQs
What does it mean when a pet has the "Adopt From Foster" banner on their profile?
It means that the pet is lucky enough to spend their time in a foster home until they find a family to call their very own! They can be adopted right from their foster home versus having to be here at the shelter.
Where is this pet actually located?
They are in a loving foster home! All pets who have the "Adopt From Foster" banner will need an appointment in order to meet them. Sometimes, pets are met right in their foster home and other times, they are brought back to the shelter for a meet and greet - each situation may be a little different, but you and that pet's point person will work out those details!
How do I meet them/what is the adoption process?
The first step is to click the "Ask About Meeting Me" button, which will take you directly to this pet's adoption page on Shelterluv. From there, one of our staff members will reach out to you with more information about the pet and how to meet them.
Are you interested in helping a pet stay out of the shelter while they wait for an adopter?
We love to hear that! Become a foster volunteer at lollypop.org/foster. You will receive emails letting you know who is eligible for our "Adopt From Foster" program!
Stormy
Lollypop Farm
Stormy is the coolest, calmest, little (well, she's 70ish lbs but who's counting) lady you could imagine! Stormy came to Lollypop Farm quite some time ago now, and a lot of her life before coming to us is unknown. So, off to a foster home she went, where we learned some concrete information at long last! Stormy loves to snuggle, she is house-trained, she is okay being left alone for a full work day, she loves the couch (and the bed, though her oddly long body makes jumping up difficult so she is always open to a nice boost), she walks decently on leash (in short: good unless there's a rabbit needing chasing), and she is friendly with new people. Stormy would make a great companion for someone looking to just have one pet at a time. Stormy was quite stressed being near dogs at the shelter. She's always okay from a distance, but she wants to be your only canine companion in a home setting. Given her passion for chasing wildlife and outdoor cats, we're going to play it safe and say hey, this gal wants to be your one and only pet across the board. But don't worry: Stormy is truly a once-in-a-lifetime dog. She is equal parts sweet and soulful, she loves to snuggle up and watch TV, and she will do ANYTHING for a quick snack, making training a total breeze. She already knows how to sit and lay down, and as we mentioned before, she walks pretty well on a leash. Stormy struggled in-shelter being housed next to so many other dogs, but in her foster home, she is not reactive on leash when she sees other dogs! Stormy's greatest passions in life are squirrel-hunting, flower-sniffing, couch-laying, and snack-tasting. Oh! And kiss-giving! If you're looking for a couch companion that still enjoys sniffing around in the grass and leaves with you, and comes basically "pre-programmed" with being house-trained and a few tricks, please ask to meet with Stormy! Stormy is in a foster home, and her friend Nicole can set you up with a time to meet her. Please send an email over to nratliff@lollypop.org, or hit the ol' "Ask About Me" button on our website!
