Camp FAQs

• Will the campers get to touch and interact with animals?

  Yes! Campers will have multiple opportunities to interact with a variety of animals.

  The animals at Lollypop Farm are constantly changing as we actively work to help homeless animals find a new home. Living in an animal shelter can be very stressful for some animals, and their safety and happiness are our main concerns when selecting animals to participate in camp. Our Humane Education team collaborates with the Animal Care team to select animals that are sociable and interested in interacting with children.

  As a reminder, this is an educational program, and while campers will have the opportunity to interact with animals, they will not spend the majority of their time caring for or playing with them. Lollypop Farm staff prioritizes animal agency and consent during all interactions to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in animals under our care.

• What does a typical day look like?

  Each day varies, depending on what animals and guest speakers will be visiting camp!

• What should my camper bring each day?

  • Closed-toe shoes (sneakers preferably) and play clothes
  • Bagged lunch
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen & bug spray

  Please leave electronic devices and toys at home. Lollypop Farm is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

• What is your cancellation policy?

  Because our staff is working diligently to ensure your child has the absolute best time possible at camp, we have a strict refund policy once camp begins.

  Please email any cancellation requests to education@lollypop.org

  If withdrawal from camp(s) occurs at least one month before the start of camp, a non-refundable processing fee of $50/session will be retained.

  If withdrawal from camp(s) happens within two weeks of the start of camp, NO refunds are given, unless there is a medical reason verified by your child’s pediatrician. AM care included.

  Fees will not be prorated due to absences, vacation schedules, or if your camper is not able to attend the full session. Please pick a session that your camper will be able to attend in full.

• Do you prorate camp prices if my child is unable to make all days?

  Unfortunately, we do not prorate due to absences. We encourage you to pick a session your camper can attend in total. We have so many different things to experience each day!

• The session I want to register my camper for is full. Do you have a waitlist?

  Sawyer, our online registration system, will automatically create a waitlist when a session reaches capacity. You can add your camper to a waitlist at no cost. If a space becomes available, we will contact people listed on the waitlist first.

• Can I have a receipt with the Lollypop Farm Tax ID number?

  Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing your receipt. You will notice that the tax ID is part of this email.

• My child has never attended a camp; can I stay in the room to help them settle?

  We understand that some campers may not have any experience in a camp-type setting and will need to adjust to being away from their parents and their normal routines. However, for the safety of our campers, parents are not allowed in the camp room. Parents may stay in the area, but must remain out of sight, with the understanding that we can always call if your child is truly struggling to adjust. Our experienced staff is honored to contribute to the social growth of your child.

• Do you cater to neurodivergent children and children with different abilities?

  Yes! Upon registration, you will be asked to complete a Camper Profile. Please provide any additional information that will help the camp staff understand your child’s needs. If you are concerned about your child in this classroom setting, please contact the Humane Education Team at education@lollypop.org or (585) 223-1330 x 173 to discuss the circumstances.

  Safety is our number one concern, so please consider the following:

  Remember that your child will be around animals. If you feel that they may act in a manner that an animal may interpret as aggressive, unpredictable, or dangerous, then we would not recommend this particular camp.
  Campers with mobility issues should be aware that many activities will occur outside, on uneven terrain.
  Although we strive to accommodate special needs, we are unable to provide one-on-one instruction.
  To make sure Lollypop Farm Camp is the right fit for your child with special needs, we encourage you to visit the facility before registering for a session.
