When tiny Buddy arrived at Lollypop Farm in early December, he weighed less than two pounds. He was fighting an upper respiratory infection that made every breath a struggle. On top of that, he was underweight, crawling with fleas, and miserably itchy from ear mites. Staff at the Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic immediately began treating him, but they knew he had a tough road ahead.

By the next morning, things looked grim. Buddy had taken a sudden turn for the worse — he was lethargic, struggling to breathe, and running a dangerously high fever. The following day brought little improvement. He still couldn’t breathe comfortably, refused to eat, and had to be placed in an oxygen chamber to ensure his tiny body received the oxygen it desperately needed. Buddy was diagnosed with severe pneumonia.

To continue his care and to monitor him overnight, one of our incredible veterinary technicians stepped in and took Buddy home. Surrounded by expert, round-the-clock attention and a whole lot of love, Buddy finally began to rally.

Today, Buddy has gained weight and transformed into the rambunctious, playful kitten he was always meant to be. His recovery was possible thanks to caring donors whose generosity makes lifesaving care like his possible every single day. Buddy has now finished his recovery and is happily enjoying his new home!
