Classroom Programs


Our lessons are tailored to your students to help build character, kindness, and animal knowledge. Choose from a list of single sessions, bundle multiple visits over time, or combine your classroom lessons with a Field Trip to visit Lollypop Farm!

  • Program Availability: Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • All programs must be booked at least THREE WEEKS in advance.
  • Animal appearance is not included in a classroom visit.

How Animals Learn

In this presentation, students will learn all about animal behaviors and how they learn them! What are behaviors? How do they work? We’ll learn that not only can old dogs learn new tricks, but so can cats, birds, and all kinds of animals!
 
Program Time: 45 minutes

Recommended for all ages! Our Educators will scaffold this program to meet students at their level.

All About Lollypop Farm

What is an animal shelter, and how does it work? How do animals get adopted? In this presentation, students will learn about Lollypop Farm’s over 150-year history, our mission and values, and all we do to help pets in the Greater Rochester community. Have fun while learning all about how animals are cared for at Lollypop Farm!
 
Program Time: 45 minutes

Recommended for all ages! Our Educators will scaffold this program to meet students at their level.

PEP! Talk: 5 Steps to a Happy and Healthy Pet

PEP! Talks are fun classroom workshops to teach kids The 5 Steps to a Happy and Healthy Pet! Our Educators incorporate a variety of visuals, music, games, and prizes to engage kids on topics that promote responsible pet ownership!
 
Program Time: 45 minutes

Recommended for students in Pre-K/K—4th grade. While our educators will scaffold this program, the content will be engaging for younger learners.

B.A.R.K. (Be Aware, Responsible, and Kind)

B.A.R.K. is a fun and interactive program for young animal lovers! The participants will learn that dogs have feelings, too (just like humans)! They will explore how dogs show different emotions such as happiness, stress, fear, frustration, nervousness, and relaxation. Participants will gain an understanding of dog body language, how to play safely with your dog, and avoiding bites.

RedRover Readers is a social and emotional learning program designed to help students develop positive relationship skills, empathy, and critical thinking through stories and discussion. Pick your story from a menu of books!

PRICING

$75 per presentation
$20 for every 30 minutes between presentations, but 1 hour max!

Depending on the distance Lollypop Farm staff need to travel you may be charged an additional fee.

  • < 10 miles = $0
  • 10-20 miles = $20
  • 21-30 miles = $30
  • 31-40 miles = $42
  • 41-50 miles = $55
  • 51+ miles = $70

  • New York State Education Law § 809 mandates humane education to be taught in elementary schools.
