Designate Your United Way Pledge to Lollypop Farm

When you designate your United Way contribution to Lollypop Farm, you are also supporting the issues our community has designated as our most challenging. Here’s how with our “Pets Helping People” programs:

  • Help Prevent Violence — Did you know that humane education fosters the values of kindness, caring, compassion, and respect? Our various docent-led tours, summer Farm Camp, and Girl Scout programs all strive to prevent cruelty and violence — to all beings.
  • Foster Success in School — Our Book Buddies program is helping schoolchildren improve their reading skills with the help of our shelter cats.
  • Help People with Disabilities— Pet Assisted Therapy has a long and successful history at Lollypop Farm serving both senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. Recently, the program has been expanded to reach even more agencies serving both children and adults.
  • Keep Seniors Independent — Our Seniors-for-Seniors adoption program provides fee-free adoptions to individuals 60 years of age or older when adopting a pet 6 years of age or older. Studies have shown that elderly people who own pets are more active than those who do not and that pet ownership has positive effects on physical well-being. We also provide a Pet Food Bank for companion animals on an emergency basis.

Donor designations through the United Way are an important part of our funding each year — more than 6% of our operating budget. Lollypop Farm is one of only a handful of humane societies across the country benefiting from participation in the United Way. It’s because of our many “people programs” that we are able to take part.

We thank our United Way donors for making so many programs possible and ask that you again pledge your support of our life saving mission with your continued contributions. It’s easy to do. Just ask your United Way workplace solicitor for a Pledge Form or download one now. Our designation number is: 1594–Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester.

Please note that United Way retains 8% of your designation to Lollypop Farm as an administrative fee.
