A quick look in our adoption center will showcase playful kittens and energetic young pets, but don’t forget to sneak a peek at some of our more shy or senior pets; You just might find a hidden treasure!
Pretty Kitty is one of those special animals.
When this adorable 14-year-old tabby first arrived at Lollypop Farm, he was overwhelmed by the unfamiliar sights and sounds of the shelter. Like many cats experiencing significant change, he kept to himself. He spent most of his time tucked safely inside his carrier and rarely accepted pets or treats. Our staff and dedicated volunteers were patient, allowing him to move at his own pace while helping him feel as safe as possible.

Then something wonderful happened: Pretty Kitty went into a foster home, and his personality bloomed. Within just 24 hours, he leaned into pets, enjoyed being brushed, and even discovered that boot laces make excellent toys. While he still preferred the quiet comfort of his own room over spending time with the resident cats, his personality blossomed in ways that simply weren’t possible in the shelter environment.
And it wasn’t long before the perfect person found him.
Today, Pretty Kitty is thriving in his new loving home. His adopter, Laurel, says he settled in quickly and has already claimed his favorite spot perched on the back of the couch behind her head. “He likes being within arm’s reach,” she states. “When he notices I’m downstairs, he announces himself with meows, then hops right up onto the armrest of the sofa and perches there until he’s had enough pets.”

His story is a beautiful reminder of the importance of fostering and shows that senior pets still have so much love to give.
