Lollypop Farm kicked off the summer with a community pet care event at the Cameron Community Teen Center in Rochester on Wednesday, June 12th. The event featured free dog vaccines, pet food, pet supplies, resources, and educational activities for kids.
The event was a great success with 153 dogs and puppies receiving vital rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines. 820 pounds of dog food and 117 pounds of cat food were also given out, along with supplies like leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, and bowls.
“Community partnerships like these ensure that we can help the most vulnerable animals in the Rochester area,” states Erin Sandle, Lollypop Farm Admissions & Community Resources Director. “We know that many families are experiencing economic distress right now, along with limited access to veterinary care. By connecting with our community, we can provide vital resources to keep pets with their loving families and out of the shelter.”
Lollypop Farm will also be partnering with other local community organizations throughout the summer for free pet care events at various locations, with additional events still being planned.
