Humane Education promotes kindness, develops empathy, and cultivates compassion toward animals, people, and the natural world. Lollypop Farm empowers individuals to gain the knowledge and tools to make informed, socially responsible choices to better the lives of animals in our community.

Camp

Designed for young animal enthusiasts, Lollypop Farm Camp offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at animal welfare through a series of exciting, hands-on activities. Every day features a new theme, including: All About Animal Enrichment, On the Farm, Day in the Life of a Shelter Vet, Crafting for a Cause, and Animal Advocates!

Pet First Aid + CPR

In collaboration with Safety Team Solutions, Lollypop Farm is excited to offer Pro Pet Hero, Pet CPR, and First Aid. Pro Pet Hero is a nationally recognized agency that certifies individuals in pet CPR and first aid. The certification covers checking vital signs, recognizing signs of health concerns, and administering first aid and CPR to cats and dogs.
  • Ages 14+ (minors need to be accompanied by an adult!)
  • $100 drop-in fee
  • 1st Saturday of the month 10am-2pm
  • Available for off-site requests!

What’s My Animal Thinking?

Comprising Cats 101, Dogs 101, Backyard Chickens 101, and Potbelly Pigs 101, these introductory classes help you learn to read animal body language, understand their instincts, and discover how they communicate with the world around them.
  • All ages (minors need to be accompanied by an adult!)
  • $5 per participant
  • Available for off-site requests!

Shelter Helpers

Make a real difference for pets in need! Shelter Helpers is an exciting, hands-on program where young animal advocates will jump into action by providing enrichment, designing adoption posters, and helping with shelter upkeep.
  • For ages 8-17 years old

Book Buddies

Our Book Buddies program allows children to read their favorite books to animals awaiting their new homes. We invite children to our main campus in Fairport to practice their reading skills in a positive, non-judgmental environment. Our pets are great listeners!
  • All ages (minors need to be accompanied by an adult!)
  • $5 per participant
  • Sibling/Friend reading buddy $3
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.

Scout Programs

Seeking a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience for your Scouts? Lollypop Farm is proud to offer workshops that give scouts hands-on, behind-the-scenes experiences centered on the Girl Scouts of the USA and Scouts BSA badge requirements.
  • Group and Drop-In Workshops
  • $30 for Girl Scouts, $45 for Boy Scouts
  • Available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Homeschool Heroes

Swap the classroom for the shelter! Homeschool Heroes offers students a hands-on look at animal welfare through interactive lessons and real-world service. From the clinic to the farmyard, your child will go beyond the textbook to make a tangible difference in the lives of the animals in our care.

Animal Tales Storytime

Gather around, little animal lovers! We'll be reading our favorite tales all about our furry, feathered, and scaled friends. Snuggle up and listen to stories that celebrate kindness, compassion, and the amazing bond between people and animals.

  • Programs available first and second Wednesday of the month
  • $10 per participant and pay as you feel depending on the event

All About Lollypop Farm

What is an animal shelter, and how does it work? How do animals get adopted? In this presentation, students will learn about Lollypop Farm’s over 150-year history, our mission and values, and all we do to help pets in the Greater Rochester community.

So, You Want a Pet?

Is your child begging for a pet? Before you say, "yes" to a furry, scaly, or feathered friend, this fun, interactive program is the perfect way to help your child understand the commitment of pet ownership.

B.A.R.K.

B.A.R.K. is a fun and interactive program for young animal lovers. The participants will learn that dogs have feelings, too (just like humans)! They will explore how dogs show different emotions such as happiness, stress, fear, frustration, nervousness, and relaxation. Participants will also gain an understanding of dog body language, how to play safely with your dog, and how to avoid bites.

Paws & Read

Lollypop Farm’s PAWS & READ program delivers a series of engaging, impactful classroom visits and optional field trips that promote literacy, empathy, and emotional growth. Designed by educators and aligned with New York State Learning Standards, this interactive program taps into children's natural curiosity and emotional connection with animals to spark meaningful learning and growth.

Expanding Compassion Through Humane Education

At Lollypop Farm, we believe that kindness to animals leads to kindness in our communities. Our Humane Education programs inspire people of all ages to treat animals with respect and empathy. Now, with the Kindness for All Kind project, we’re expanding our capacity to engage even more children, teens, and adults in hands-on learning, interactive programs, and community outreach.
